In this work, I attempt to grapple with having no control over any aspect of myself in capitalist western society. I portray myself in a washing machine, clothes sticking to my body. It is a very claustrophobic space, which shows my feeling of claustrophobia and restriction I feel in life. I experimented with the idea of "washing" the self to show how society tries to wash away individuality. I allow the viewer to spin the work, thus submitting to the will of others. I feel as if I must follow routines to survive, hence the cycle.
