This chair takes the form of a Mobius strip, a one-sided surface with no boundaries. In the hegemony, the norm is defined against the other. The kink in the Mobius strip chair represents the hegemonic perception of queerness as a boundless identity without clear definition, which fails to account for intersectional experiences. By sitting on the chair in the digital space, the queer home, the other can reclaim power and redefine their identity beyond the hegemonic constraints. Modeled and Textured in Blender. 2023.
